The Banyan Tree is located on the site of the old Kona Yacht
Club, and is now framed on one side by a famous 100 year old banyan
tree. The surrounding area is dominated by rolling surf as it
washes over black lava reef and creates tide pools which are an
adventure to explore.
The Banyan Tree is located between Keauhou and Kailua about 3 miles from each,
and is about 20 minutes from the airport. The small quaint town of Kailua
is a polynesian village of song and story, filled with many unique
boutiques, shops and restaurants. Keauhou Bay has many tennis courts and is
the home of several challenging golf courses on the "Big
Island". The championship courses of Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani and the
Hilton are a little more than 30 minutes away.
Kona has dry, sunny days. Prevailing breezes off the ocean during the day and
cool mountain air at night has made the Kona Coast famous the world over.
Since our unit faces directly west, you can sit on the lanai and enjoy the
beautiful Kona sunset as the sun sinks into the Pacific. United Airlines
flies directly into Kona from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our resident
manager is always willing to help to accommodate you in any way.
